Craving a Budget for VDay

Today is more than just a Hallmark Holiday—it’s a time to make sure your loved one knows exactly how much you care about him/her. And, of course, there are all kinds of ways to show it. Aside from the expensive dinners, bouquets of roses and boxes of chocolates, this is a day about letting your love shine with memories that will last a lifetime.

On a budget? Try making a DIY holiday card. It always puts a “this is from the bottom of my heart” spin to it. Better yet, how about taking that DIY card and surprising your loved one with a reservation to a more pocket friendly dinner option: White Castle! Since 1991, the fast food chain has taken part in grabbing a portion of the estimated $3.5 billion couples spend going out to eat on Feb. 14th by offering reserved Valentine’s Day seating at the “Love Castle.”

Today, the restaurant offers table-side service equipped with festive decorations including, red table cloths, flowers, candles, balloons and a complimentary digital photo to capture the memory (be sure to look your best – the photos will be posted on White Castle’s Facebook page after March 1st).

My SliderGram…
Hey, a girl has got to eat!

Still on a tight budget? Don’t worry, social media ideas are to the rescue! White Castle gives both patrons and followers the option to create SliderGram’s via its Facebook page. I may or may not have sent the one that reads, “You had me at Slider. Will you be my White Castle Valentine?” to someone today. I will admit, I actually did go to White Castle to settle my crave this past week – take a look at my order in the real SliderGram I created (Yes, that’s the meal for a 5’2, under 125 lbs. gal). Impressive, right?

Okay, if you didn’t say yes to the above question, you must be disgusted. But hey, give me some credit; at least I didn’t have a first date there. On a holiday dedicated to love, Brenda Sparks and Rick Hohweiler tied the knot at #WeddingAtTheCastle in Sharonville, Ohio, where they first met. They didn’t even have to spend an arm and a leg on their dream wedding. The lucky couple won 96ROCK’s radio contest and received complimentary food and beverages for the party of up to 20 guests, a limo ride and more. I’ve kept up with the scoop on White Castle’s Twitter page.

As you have read here, money doesn’t have to buy love when you’re on a tight budget. After all, it’s the thought that counts!
