Doritos Crashes the Super Bowl

It’s Super Bowl time, and advertisers are getting ready to showcase their commercials at this year’s game. As for Doritos, this is their seventh year of the “Crash the Super Bowl” contest where filmmakers can submit a 30-second Doritos commercial. Five finalist will be considered for the two spots that will face off during the Super Bowl. Viewers can vote for their favorite spot.

The first place winner takes home $1,000,000 and the opportunity to work with director Michael Bay on his next Transformers project. Runners-up also receive a nice sum of money. The second place ad wins $600,00; the third place ad win $400,000, and the last two finalist win $25,000 each.

The Crash the Super Bowl contest is the largest online video contest in the world. Frito-Lay received more than 6,100 submissions in 2012 installment, and paid out more than $2,125,000 in prizes.[1]
