Funny Friday: ‘Frozen’ in July
It’s Disney’s world, and we’re all just living in it.
Seriously, have you ever taken a look into what exactly Disney owns? It comes as no surprise that a company with so much power behind it could produce films that take the world by storm – even months after their release. Frozen, the first animated Disney film to be directed by a woman, was released in the United States on November 27, 2013 (a cool seven months and 15 days ago), and is STILL making its way through Internet memes, fan videos, lip syncs and more. Just for fun, on this sweltering Friday in July, let’s take a look at how Frozen, the highest grossing animated film of all time, has over the Internet, that song that plays in the back of your head, and drives in the car with Dad…
Let. It. Go.
No doubt, you’ve seen the hundreds of thousand lip-dub videos of families rocking out to “Let it Go” while driving around town. From husband and wife to handsome baseball players to father and daughter, there’s a lot of variety if you’re looking for a different way to listen to the catchy song. There’s even some really remix parodies out there to support your current mood. These dads are so totally OVER listening to their daughter’s favorite songs this summer. If only they could let it go…
Orange is the New Black can’t even overpower the Frozen fever, as Netflix recently released the show’s second season, which occupied much of my peer’s time as they binge-watched the episodes as quickly as their wifi connection would allow. Check out this trailer for Frozen is the New Black (Warning: explicit content).
As a coffee-addicted individual, I always have mocha on the brain. I feel that this “Do you Want to Build a Snowman” parody was made especially for me and all my likewise addicted comrades. Yes, I ALWAYS want to go to Starbucks, okay? (bye)
I’m not at all surprised that this film has had such marked success in its lifetime – truly a charming, entertaining film for children of all ages, it’s no wonder that it’s taken so many of our hearts and news feeds by storm.
