Funny Women Friday

Happy International Women’s Day! Today we recognize 10 women who have brought us to tears, smiles and joy through laughter.

Our Space Tina and Amy

1. A comedian, actress, presenter and the woman with dance moves that has her audience standing on their feet dancing along with her is known as none other than Ellen Degeneres. I’m a fan of ‘doing the Ellen’ when I’m out; she makes me want to get out of my mind. Weekend here I come!

2. Amy Poehler is one of the main reasons why I enjoy watching Parks and Recreation. I’d love to be in her shoes for a day and I’m sure Taylor Swift would have to disagree.

3. Do you watch Saturday Night Live or 30 Rock? If so, I’m sure you’re familiar with Tina Fey and so is Taylor Swift.

4. Modern Family wouldn’t be the same without the Columbian actress, Sofia Vergara. She brings so much flavor to the show.

5. Ranked among Entertainment Weekly’s 25 Funniest People in America, Wanda Sykes was sure to make this list.

6. Known for her role in comedic films, Leslie Mann starred alongside Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd in Judd Apatow’s (her hubby) film, Knocked Up and has (based on my own thoughts) been blessed to play her role in Big Daddy (which is my favorite movie).

7. Maya Rudolph played alongside many other well known comedians in Bridesmaids. My gut reaction made me laugh during this scene.

8. Trivia question: who was born “Caryn Elaine Johnson”? Whoopi Goldberg holds the honor of being one of ten people who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and a Tony Award. Congrats girl!

9. Jessica Kirson is always funny. Just take a look at this clip on Joy’s Comedy Corner. Hilarious!

10. Does the name Phoebe Buffay ring a bell? I hope so! Whenever I think of Lisa Kudrow’s quirky role on the sitcom, Friends, I envision her singing Smelly Cat. Why hasn’t she won a ticket to Hollywood on American Idol yet?
