Decision marks continuation of 12 year relationship between client and agency
CHICAGO – Exelon Corporation has announced that it has re-appointed The San Jose Group (SJG) as its Hispanic advertising agency of record for Exelon and its operating companies, ComEd and PECO. As a result of the decision, SJG will continue to develop branding strategies and advertising executions for the company. This marks the continuation of an already well-established 12 year relationship between Exelon and SJG.

As Hispanic agency of record, SJG will continue to provide expertise in the realm of advertising, media buying and planning, public relations, events as well as other marketing activities. In addition, the agency will have an elevated front-end involvement in the overall planning of Exelon’s branding and marketing strategies, alongside the client’s other agency partners.
Exelon’s announcement follows an extensive review process that included several other national Hispanic agencies. SJG’s work with Exelon Corporation was initiated with the agency’s appointment on the ComEd brand in 1995. Over the past 12 years, SJG has worked with Exelon to develop a number of unique marketing initiatives including the company’s first holiday grassroots program in the Chicago Hispanic market as well as an English-language television spot that targeted the Hispanic segment and aired during the Hispanic Heritage Awards on NBC.
Most recently, SJG helped Exelon launch its CARE (Customers’ Affordable Reliable Energy) initiative for the ComEd brand in the Hispanic market in 2006. Outreach to the market aimed to increase awareness of the program among Hispanic consumers and educate them about energy conservation and other relevant topics.
