CHICAGO (April 1, 1999) — The Hispanic Heritage Awards Foundation, one of the nation’s most prestigious organizations promoting Hispanic excellence, has selected San Jose & Associates, Inc. as its PR agency of record for the launch of its 1999 Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards in Chicago.
Chicago is one of nine cities chosen to participate in this year’s awards program, designed to recognize the achievements of area high school students. The Chicago program will honor five students at a special reception on May 10. SJ&A’s responsibilities will include launching aggressive media relations and event planning efforts to maximize the awareness of the youth program among Hispanic and General market audiences.
“We are proud to have been given the opportunity to leverage our PR expertise on behalf of the Hispanic Heritage Awards Foundation and this important youth initiative,” said George L. San Jose, president and executive creative director of SJ&A.
The Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards is tied to the Hispanic Heritage Awards, a prestigious awards ceremony that promotes, rewards and celebrates the extraordinary contributions that the Latino community has made to this nation. The program is televised on NBC every year in October, during Hispanic Heritage month. Past award recipients include Gloria Estefan, Dr. Antonia Novello and Edward James Olmos.
