Marcos Calandrelli brings more than fifteen years of copywriting experience
CHICAGO – The San Jose Group has hired Marcos Calandrelli as creative director to lead the agency’s creative team. Marcos brings to the agency more than 15 years of experience as a creative director and copywriter in agencies throughout Argentina.
“It is exciting to have such an accomplished copywriter join our team,” said Jim Legg, vice president of account service at SJG. “We look forward to having Marcos use his copywriting expertise to create memorable and meaningful messages for our clients so they can continue to connect to their consumers in a relevant way.”
Marcos joins SJG after working in various agencies in Argentina, including BBDO, DDB and Bates. For the past four years, he worked as a creative director in Argentina, developing breakthrough creative strategies and motivating teams to push concepts to the next level. Prior to that, Marcos spent more than ten years perfecting his craft as a copywriter, working on campaigns for clients that included Volkswagen, Nike, McDonald’s, MTV and several Unilever brands.
Marcos’ work has been recognized by some of the most important and sought-after award programs in the advertising industry, among them the London Advertising Awards, Cannes and the Clio Awards. His most recent Cannes award recognized his copywriting work on an MTV campaign.
