The San Jose Group Welcomes New Creative Director

Hector Benitez brings more than ten years experience in advertising, production

CHICAGO – The San Jose Group has hired Hector Benitez as creative director to lead the agency’s creative team. Hector brings to the agency more than 10 years of experience developed in a variety of creative roles in both the television and advertising industries in Latin America.

“It is exciting to have such an accomplished creative director join our team,” said George L. San Jose, president of SJG. “We look forward to continue developing award-winning creative strategies and executions for our clients.”

Hector joins SJG from BBDO México, where he worked for almost ten years as a creative director. In his role, he was responsible for the creative strategy and execution for clients across various categories, including Pepsi, Mercedes-Benz, Bayer and Alimentos Del Fuerte. His work has been recognized by some of the most important and sought-after award programs in the advertising industry, among them the London Advertising Awards, the New York Festivals and the One Club.

Prior to joining SJG, Hector earned extensive experience in production, editing and concept development while working for Televisa, the largest media company in the Spanish-speaking world. During his three years at the company, Hector was involved in filming, production and editing the television network’s programming, also contributing to the development of new program concepts. In addition, he created and produced advertisements for Televisa.

Aside from his vast experience in advertising and television production, Hector has served as a teacher and mentor to those aspiring to enter the Hispanic advertising field. In Mexico, he taught an advertising and graphic design workshop at Universidad Iberoamericana, one of the most prestigious universities in Mexico. When not teaching, Hector wrote a column about advertising and entertainment for Semanario del Nuevo Inversionista, a publication in northern Mexico.
