CHICAGO (November 17, 2006) — The San Jose Group, one of the oldest, independently-owned Hispanic marketing communication agencies in the country, earned a 2006 Telly Award for its work on the Hispanic Christian Churches Association’s (HCCA) public service announcement called, “Sinfonia.” The entry was honored as an outstanding regional commercial in the category of public service.
Founded in 1978, the Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions. This year’s competition received more than 12,000 entries from around the globe.
“We are thrilled to have our work recognized by our peers,” said George L. San Jose, president and COO of The San Jose Group. “‘Sinfonia’ was created to touch the deepest levels of human spirituality by encouraging U.S. and Latin American Hispanics to start a relationship with God.”
For the last three years, The San Jose Group has worked with HCCA to develop a communications platform to position HCCA as an instrument to help fulfill the spiritual needs of people by utilizing television, radio, print and outdoor signage.
The “Sinfonia” public service announcements (PSAs) compare the sense of harmony achieved in one’s life as a result of having a relationship with God to the harmony achieved in an orchestra that follows its conductor. With the PSAs running on Hispanic television networks such as Univision and Telemundo, it’s estimated that 350 million viewers saw the spots, whose final copy says, “Looking for harmony in your life? Let the Maestro lead you. Communicate with God.”
