The San Jose Group Recognized For Print Media Design Excellence

CHICAGO (May 1, 2003) — The San Jose Group was recently named a winner in The Communicator Awards 2003 Print Media Competition, for its print advertising for client ATA Airlines. The print execution built credibility among Hispanic consumers by recognizing the airline’s longevity in the industry.

The Communicator Awards is an international awards competition that recognizes outstanding work in the communications field. Entries are judged by industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. There were 3,730 entries from throughout the United States as well as several foreign countries.

Winners of The Communicator Awards come from advertising and public relations agencies, corporate communications departments, educational institutions, government entities, designers, writers, video production professionals, broadcast and cable operators, and other businesses and individuals.

The winning advertisement cleverly used an eye-catching, black and white layout, using retouched photography focusing on the side of an ATA plane with an engine “blowing” out the candles on an enormous birthday cake. The Spanish language copy simply read “ATA Celebrates its 30th Anniversary.” This print execution is part of an ongoing multimedia campaign for the airline. The San Jose Group has been ATA’s Hispanic marketing agency for more than nine years.
