Throwback Thursday: Everybody, Backstreets Back, Alright!

Throwback Thursday: Everybody, Backstreets Back, Alright! Many bands have had sensational comebacks: from the Spice Girls closing ceremony at the London 2012 Olympic Games, to TLC revealing plans for their first gig in four years this upcoming July and 98 Degrees reuniting and hitting the road this summer for The Packaged Tour with New Kids on the Block and Boyz II Men. It was almost evident that the iconic boy band, Backstreet Boys would someday be back (as a five-some).

Throwback Thursday: Everybody, Backstreets Back, Alright! This past April, the 90’s boy band celebrated their 20th anniversary, during which they were awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, A. J. McLean and Kevin Richardson formed BSB in 1993. I can recall some Thursday’s when I play throwback songs from the 90’s. Hm, I wonder what the Junior Executives here at work think. Actually, I think they probably enjoy it. If not, they probably should. It’s our history! Although, now, I can finally listen to some new songs! BSB is back in 2013! They’ll be releasing a new album, “In A World Like This” on July 30th. In addition, the band will kick off a North American tour in Chicago (I just got presale tickets, I just got presale tickets, I JUST GOT PRESALE TICKETS!). The boys recently appeared on “Good Morning America” for a performance of their new song, “Permanent Stain.” They also sang their 1997 hit, “Everybody.” Their albums first single, “In a World Like This,” is set to be released on June 24th. Are you ready to pop and maybe lock and drop it out to their newest hits? I know I sure am.

Throwback Thursday: Everybody, Backstreets Back, Alright! If you’re not quite fond of pop music, you may have already heard Fall Out Boy made plans to “Save Rock and Roll.” The Chicago band’s album and first release in nearly five years, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. In addition to their comeback success, they’ll be headlining the outdoor music fest, Riot Fest in Humbolt Park at the end of this summer.  There are a ton of performances for all Pop-Punk or Rock-n-Roll enthusiasts to see. Check out the full list. If you can’t wait until summer, they just kicked off their Save Rock and Roll Tour on Tuesday.

Which comebacks will you be following this year?
