The holiday season is in full gear (and with less than 48 hours of shopping before Christmas, it’s crunch time for many). This Trending News Monday, we’re presenting the Holiday Headlines.
Obamacare Deadline Extended Until Christmas Eve
Today, the White House extended the Affordable Care Act deadline for Americans to sign up for health insurance and have coverage plans starting on January 1 by a day. Originally, today was the last day to sign up for plans to assure there would be no coverage gaps; however, the administration took into consideration the “high demand” and the enrollment from people in “multiple time zones,” which led to the extension.

Target Customer’s Compromised Credit Cards
Target customers faced a Holiday nightmare last Thursday when the company announced that 40 million debit and credit card accounts were hacked. Millions of shoppers who made purchases from November 27 to December 15 had names, credit and debit card numbers, expiration dates and CVV numbers stolen. While Target executed public relations efforts by giving shoppers a 10% discount this weekend, financial institutions, government officials and consumers alike publicly announced their disapproval of Target’s security, some bringing a class action lawsuit against the major retailer.

Holiday Hockey Videos
The NHL went viral over the weekend with their annual holiday video cards. Hockey stars are spreading Christmas cheer through bad acting, painful singing and toothless smiling. Check out the Chicago Blackhawk’s holiday video, and visit nhl.com to view them all.
