Two for Tuesday

Two For Tuesday

Every Tuesday at Our Space you can expect to find two of something —  movies, restaurants, ads, books, gif’s, animal names, pick up lines, cocktail recipes —  you just never know; we’re leaving it wide open.

The purpose is twofold (ha) — first, it’s catchy and mildly memorable, and it may just bring you back next week to see what’s new.  Second, in an attempt to get our creative contributors to contribute, it may be easier to provide them a framework to get the juices flowing.

I started to write about two songs and then movies, but to tell you the truth, I was stumped.  The words that are circling my mind today are about age and youth and what that all really means.

A very bright, charming and kind intern that just completed two months with us at the agency posed the following question to me:

“What’s the definition of youth? Age?  Or is it the energy, curiosity and drive that tends to correlate with it? And if you already have those three things, then what does the number matter?”

Smart guy, right?  We really do have the best interns in the world…

It’s a very pleasant thought — youthfulness lies in demeanor and drive rather than decades —   I believe it.  I offer two quotes on the subject to contemplate and consider:

There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age.” – Sophia Loren

We do not stop playing because we grow old. We grow old because we stop playing.” – Benjamin Franklin

My intern friend prompted me to think, perhaps all youth is not wasted on the young.

Give me your two cents (ha). Do you think that age is defined by attitude more than years?  Does it bother you when you see older people acting young? What does it mean to “act young,” anyway?  Just so I know…
