Univision debuts Its First Digital Network

Univision has launched a bilingual digital network called Uvideos that lives online and is also available on mobile devices.

While many Latinos consume live content, like telenovelas, news and sports, the viewing habits of the younger demographic is changing. People want to access content quickly, in shorter bits of video and have the option to share with friends.

There is also a growing trend with viewers who are increasingly viewing media on mobile devices like smartphones, tablets and on mobile applications.

Uvideos offers more than 1,500 hours of programming and 200 free short clips per day.

Univision will offer content in Spanish and with English subtitles. This is a continuation of the stations effort to go beyond their traditional Spanish programming  which started back in January with the addition of English subtitles to it its television programs.

In addition to UVideos, Univision also debuted the premiere of the network’s fourth Web-only telenovela, “Te Presento a Valentín.” The telenovela is the first digital-only co-production of Univision and its content partner, Televisa.
